Fifteen days old Clarias batrachus larvae having initial length: 9.20±0.25 mm and weight: 0.15±0.003 mg were reared on artificial diets, formulated by using animal and plant protein sources. Larvae fed with diet containing fish meal showed significantly better growth and survival rate. On the other hand, larvae fed with diet containing boiled chicken egg yolk showed lowest growth and survival rate. Thus, both artificial, as well as, live feed results in appreciable growth of Clarias batrachus.
