Abstract

Artificial seawater with proper filtration system may affect cost effective production of high quality prawn seeds. An attempt was made to devise proper filtration technique using artificial seawater for production of M. rosenbergii post larvae. Performance of different filter media viz. coir + bamboo; perforated PVC pipe rings and synthetic media were tested under artificial seawater recirculation system was assessed. It was concluded that artificial seawater, along with combination of filter media like Bamboo rings and coir, can be effectively used for production of post larvae of M. rosenbergii.
