Keratinase is one of the most useful enzymes having applications in various industrial sectors such as leather, textile, paper and poultry. Present investigation deals with isolation and screening of different keratinase producing species along with computational studies on16SrRNA sequencing. Partial nucleotide sequence of isolated species was named as Streptomyces badius. The nucleotide sequence of Streptomyces badius was used for the prediction of hypothetical protein.. The sequence of keratinase protein from Streptomyces badius predicted by computational approach was further used for homology modelling and three dimensional model was predicted. It was validated using Ramchandran plot analysis. The results obtained during present investigation have been found to be useful in studying enzymatic mechanism and active site residues of keratinase protein.
