Abstract

Sayle Devrai is a sacred grove located in Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra, India. During present investigation, stored carbon in the trees of sacred grove was determined. Total carbon stock in trees was calculated using biomass density. This sacred grove was dominated by Terminalia species and Tectona grandis. Total carbon sequestration of Sayle sacred grove was 12, 239.5 ton.
