Abstract

An investigation was undertaken to study effect of growth retardants on flowering and vegetative characters of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.)”cv. PBN-OK-1 at the College of Horticulture, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, during Kharif, 2018. Among the growth retardants Cycocel 500 ppm was found to be beneficial for decreasing plant height (50.91 cm), increasing number of internodes per plant (15.16), intermodal length (1.94 cm), number of branches per plant (1.85) and leaf area (242.95 cm²). It minimized days to open first flower (17.61), days to 50 percent flowering (20.06) and number of flowers per plant (17.33).
