Abstract

Zebrafish (Danio rerio) is an established model in the studies on developmental biology due its high fecundity, transparent eggs and similarity in evolutionary pathway with humans. Foldscope is an affordable and portable paper microscope with optical magnification of 140X. During present investigation, Foldscope was used as a microscopic tool to study the effect of cell tower radiation on the embryonic development of zebrafish. Alteration in the growth rate of embryos, exposed to electromagnetic radiation was observed. It is observed that long and direct exposure to such cell phone and tower radiations may lead to defective growth and development of zebrafish embryos.
