The genus Phacus differs from Euglena, because of its colour, shape and arrangement of strips. Present investigation deals with the species diversity of the genus Phacus from Aner river in Dhule district of Maharashtra. During present study, 16 taxa of Phacus have been reported from study area for the first time. The species of Phacus were found to be dominant as compared to other taxa of euglenoids.
