Abstract

Present study was carried out to assess seasonal variation in zooplankton diversity at Saprar Dam, Mauranipur, Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh, India. Zooplankton samples were collected for the period of one year from January to December 2017 from selected sampling sites of Saprar Dam and zooplankton community structure was assessed. Total 30 species of zooplankton were recorded, of which 13 species were from phylum rotifera (43.33%), 10 from cladocera (33.33 %), 4 from copepoda (13.33%) and 3 from protozoa (10 %). As zooplankton is a good indicator of water quality and aquatic ecosystems this baseline information will be useful to aquatic ecologists.
