During present investigation 136 nests of house sparrow were observed from January 2018 to December 2019, out of which 89 nests werein ruralwhile 47 in the urban areas of the Barmer district. The sparrows were found constructing nests in varieties of habitats.They were found nesting on specific trees with the help of different nesting materials, where in plant matters were utilized in rural area while anthropogenic and animal matter was utilized in urban nests. Urbanization caused adverse effect on house sparrow nesting habitat and selection of nesting material.
