Bioactive compounds present in ethanolic leaf extract of Prosopis spicigera L. were identified following GC-MS analysis. Phyto-constituents like tannins, steroids, flavone derivatives, alkaloids etc were found in the leaves. The leaf extract showed antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Aeromonas hydrophylla and Salmonella typhii. The results of the GC-MS analysis provided different peaks, indicating presence of Sophytochemical compounds with different therapeutic activities.
