Abstract

Callosobruchus chinensis was exposed to sub-lethal doses of fipronil. The exposure did not produce immediate mortality of the insect, but had prolonged effects on its biological parameters. All the biological parameters displayed susceptibility to fipronil. The rate of oviposition, percent egg hatching, percent adult emergence and adult lifespan showed significant decline due to the treatment with fipronil.
