Abstract

Ceropegia bulbosa Roxb. var. bulbosa (family-Asclepiadaceae), generally known as lantern flowers, is categorized as a 'threatened plant1. Ceropegia contain various bioactive compounds, such as phenolics, saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, triterpenes etc. Present study was undertaken to evaluate functional groups by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FT-IR) analysis. For this purpose, plants of C. bulbosa were grown in in-vivo and in-vitro. The differences in functional groups have been observed in the samples of stem, leaf, callus and tuber of Ceropegia bulbosav ar. bulbosa grown in-vivo and in-vitro
