Present paper deals with FTIR analysis of keratin obtained from feathers of four different birds e.g. Duck, Crane, Emu and Pigeon. Among them, pigeon and duck feathers showed distinct functional groups. Duck feathers were rich in keratin followed by those of Pigeon, Crane and Emu. The FTIR analysis of the feathers indicated that the keratin, being a fibrous protein, exhibits secondary structure.
