In recent years, non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have emerged as essential diagnostic, developmental, and therapeutic tools involved in physiology, genetics, epigenetics, and developmental diseases. Discovery and quantitative characterization of these RNAs are necessary to study their biological functions. Several data mining tools designed for identification of ncRNAs are available. Present paper deals with the selection of proper tool (or pipeline) to extract RNAs with high throughput and minimum computational resources. For this purpose COMPSRA pipeline, SortMeRNA tool and exceRpt pipeline were compared for detection of diverse RNAs. It has been suggested that machining time can be significantly reduced if proper tool combination is selected for this purpose.
