While studying for revision of Capparis L. genus in Tamil Nadu, during a field visit to Coimbatore on 3rd April 2021, the author noticed Capparis grandiflora Wall. ex Hook. f. & Thompson [= C. pyrifolia Lamk.] at Maruthamalai foothills. It was observed that the flower bud of this species was not earlier described in any publication. It has been reported in this communication for the first time, on the basis of which it was revised and re-established. Based on Endlicher (1833) criteria, the presence of two sepals and 7 petals in the flower, it was recognized as from Busbeckea Section.
