The fungi associated with Sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) seeds were collected from four locations viz. Karjat, Jamkhed, Shrigonda, Pathardi, of Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra state. About 44% sorghum seeds were found to be infected by different fungi. Seven such fungi, infecting Sorghum seeds, were identified, Those of were Aspergillus niger, Penivillium citrium Alternaria tenuis, Cercospora sorghi, Aspergillus flaus, Puccinia purpurea and Rhizopus stolonifer The per cent prevalence of fungi were A. flavus, (19.4%), A. niger(18.5%), R. stolonifer (17.7%), P. citrium (16%), Alternaria tenuis (11.6%), C. sorghi (9.3%) and P. purpurea (7%).
