Abstract

Present study was undertaken to assess toxicity of sodium percarbonate and its depuration effect on Tilapia. For this purpose the fishes were exposed to sodium percarbonate (50 ppm) for a period of one week. The activities of GOT, GPT as well as Protein and glycogen contents were estimated after exposure to sodium percarbonate and thereafter at the end of depuration for 2 weeks. During depuration there was significant decrease in the activities of enzymes, which had increased due to the exposure to sodium percarbonate.
