Present investigation was undertaken to evaluate medicinal properties of Saussureaa costus belonging to family Asteraceae. During survey, it was found to be a rare in occurrence in Jammu and Kashmir. The importance of various plant parts i.e roots, rhizomes and leaves have been discussed alongwith methods of administration for curing various health disorders.
