Abstract

Present investigation deals with resource use efficiency of Sweet corn, cultivated in Kolhapur and Pune districts of Western Maharashtra. Cobb Douglas type of production function was employed for the data to estimate resource use productivities. The Inputs used were human labor, fertilizer (N.P.K.) farm yard manure (FYM) and working capital The regression coefficients of all variables were positive, Indicating a wide scope to Increase the use of these variables, forgetting maximum benefit. The Marginal value Product (MVP) to price ratio was greater than unity, which Indicated that further Increase in the use of resources would give higher returns.
