The Tea tribe community of Assam have a long tradition of utilizing medicinal plants for various health problems. During present study an attempt was made to find out the traditional beliefs and management practices of such medicinal plants. Tea Tribes of six Estates from Tinsukla district of Assam were selected for this purpose. Thorough observations, Interviews, surveys and discussions with traditional healers, elderly persons and medical officers resulted Into documentation of the Information, which was used to work-out ethno-botanical Indices like Fidelity Level (FL) and Use Value (UV). In all 78 medicinal plant species were recorded, belonging to 71 genera and 38 families for present study.
