Abstract

Pleurotus sajor-caju was cultivated on soybean straw supplemented with blofertlllzers viz. Rhizobium (RH), Acetobacter (AC) and phosphate solublllzlng bacteria (PSB) along with spawn to determine effect of these blofertlllzers on yield of mushroom and carbohydrate, protein, fat, crude fiber and ash content in it. Soybean straw supplemented with RH+AC+PSB, along with spawn showed minimum time required for spawn run (12±0.4 days), pinhead formation (13±0.7 days), formation of fruiting body (16 ± 0.2 days) with maximum mushroom yield (499.28 gm/kg dry soybean straw)and 49.93% biological efficiency, These mushrooms contained highest moisture (83.62%), total carbohydrate (5.22%), protein (3.25%), fat (0.138%), crude fiber (5.54%) and ash (4.56%), against control or untreated product. Thus, the supplementation of the substrate with resulted into enhancement of yield and other parameters.
