India places a significant economic emphasis on the cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plant species. Due to the diverse range of climatic and soil conditions, it is possible to successfully cultivate huge variety of these plants. It is crucial to investigate the use of biofertilizers in the production of aromatic and medicinal plants since these substances have a significant impact on the rate at which plants develop and the amount of product they produce. One of those species is known as Rosmarinus officinalis L. which belongs to the family Lamiaceae. This plant thrives in environments with temperate summers, warm winters, low humidity and well- drained soil. Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) play an important role in the growth of important plants, and hence in order to observe the effect of the PGPR on growth and development of Rosmarinus officinalis L. was studied. From the results obtained during present investigation, inoculating Rosmarinus officinalis L. with the commercial obtain IFFCO Azotobacter liquid biofertilizer (@ 2.5ml/l) along with Jaggery (4%) have been recommended to improve overall growth and biomass accumulation of the plant. Inoculation with PGPR can improve crop productivity either by protecting plants from pathogenic microorganisms or by providing other nutrients Liquid biofertilizer certainly has the potential to replace conventional chemical fertilizers and carrier-based biofertilizers.
