Abstract

Several bacterial isolates were obtained from kitchen waste dumping areas, which were screened for the production of cellulase. Twenty best isolates were subjected for enzyme quantification. The isolate showing maximum production of cellulase was further studied for quantitative production. This bacterial isolate was identified as Serratia marcescens after 16SrRNA gene sequencing studies.
