The study was undertaken in the wetland (Sankarbeel) In Golaghat district of Assam, for documentation and Identification of aquatic medicinal plants. For this purpose structured questionnaires and Interviews were arranged with local people and fishermen residing In the study area. In all, 35 medicinal plants were detected In the study area. A comprehensive list of the medicinal plants and the mode of their application against various ailments has been given.
