A study of lichens on the monuments of Jaipur, Udaipur, and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan state was carried out. It revealed occurrence of 19 species belonging to 6 families and 9 genera, out of which 8 were found to be the new distributional records for Rajasthan. Maximum species diversity was recorded on the monuments from Jaipur district, with 15 species belonging to 4 families and 5 genera. A cyano-lichen, Lichinella iodopulchra (Cauderc ex Croz.) P.P. Moreno & Egea has been reported for the first time in India. The dominant growth form of lichens were squamulose (76%), sub-fruticose (10%), crustose (9%), and leprose (5%). A brief description of new records of lichens to the state of Rajasthan has been provided.
