Leaf anatomical study of six Clematis species (Clematis gouriana Roxb., C. hydisarifolia Dc., C. heynei M.A. Rau in Sharmal et.al., C. smilacifolia Wall., C. wightianna Wall., In C. recta revealed that the leaves of C. recta were Isobilateral, whereas in the rest of the species it is dorsiventral. The palisade tissue was one layered in C. gouriana, C. wightianna, C. heynei and C. smilacifolia and two layer in C. hydisarifolia.
