Pleurotus florida was cultivated on wheat straw supplemented with biofertilizers viz., Azotobacter (AZ), Acetobacter (AC) and phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) along with spawn, to determine the effect of these biofertilizers on mushroom yield and total carbohydrate, protein, fat, crude fiber and ash content in it. Wheat straw supplemented with AZ + AC + PSB showed minimum time required for spawn run (10±0.8 days), pinhead formation (10±0.2 days), fruit body formation (9±0.8 days), maximum mushroom yield (482.32 gm/kg dry soybean straw) with 48.23% biological efficiency, highest contents of moisture (83.62%), total carbohydrate (4.74%), protein (2.66%), fat (0.144%), crude fiber (5.87%) and ash (5.15%) against untreated control. Thus, the supplementation of biofertilizers with the substrate, alone as well as in combination, resulted into enhancement of yield and other parameters.
