Significant variations in almost all morphological (seed germination, shoot length, number of leaves) and physiological (chlorophyll content, relative water content) traits were observed in wheat plants under the influence of salt and drought. Those traits were largely affected in the varieties NIAW-917, NIAW- 295 and MACS-6222 as compared with NIAW-301 and NIAW-3170. The relative water content was highest in NIAW-3170 (78.03%), which decreased to 71.25 % under the influence of water and salt stress, in addition Chlorophyll content was also drastically reduced under stress.
