Capparis zeylanica L. (Capparaceae) commonly known as 'Ceylon Caper' is a climbing shrub found in the forests of the Indian subcontinent, Indo-China, China and Malaysia. Its unripe fruit is pickled and ripe fruit pulp is eaten by the tribals and local people. In Kerala, so far this species was reported only from three districts i.e. Palakkad, Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram (Sankara Rao et al., 2019). This communication is the first report of Capparis zeylanica L. in Thrissur District at two localities (Arimpur and Wadakkancheri). Herbarium specimens were prepared and submitted to Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, Thrissur District.
