Abstract

Present work explains preparation of a new, biologically important substituted 2-amino-4H-chromene. A one-pot tandem reaction between 1 or 2napthol, aromatic aldehydes, and malononitrile in water using OPGCN as catalyst gives intended products with moderate to good yield. 4H-pyran and its analogues are biologically active and have considerably attracted several researchers in the field of biochemistry. Most of the methods for their synthesis are associated with drawbacks like harsh reaction condition, extraction, purification and longer reaction time. Therefore a novel nano-composite i.e. oxygen doped graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3 N4) polyaniline (OPGCN)1 method has been described. All synthesized compounds were investigated by 1H-NMR, MS, FT-IR, and tested for antimicrobial activity.
