Present study was undertaken to investigate species diversity of butterflies in Kundi valley. Ninety five butterfly species belonging to 6 families were recorded. Nymphalidae was found to be the dominant family with 35 species; followed by Lycaenidae with 27, Hesperiidae with 15, Pieridae with 9, Papilionidae with 8, and only one species belonging to Riodinidae were recorded. The study area was found to be rich in butterflies and their diversity.
