Many of old municipal water tanks in Dhule city are under maintenance and most of them are not properly covered with lid. Open water tanks usually promote algal growth, which leads to the development of greenish slimy layer of algae on inner walls of the tanks which interferes with the maintenance of the tanks. Present investigation deals with the study of algal species found in Dhule Municipal water during the years 2018-2020. This was, probably, the first attempt in thisdirection, wherein 15 algal taxa were detectedfrom Ashok Nagar water tank of Dhule.
