The first report of Plumatella javanica (Kraepelin 1906) (Bryozoa, phylactolamma) from Maharashtra, India

Plumatella javanica has been reported for the first time from Maharashtra. The colony morphology and floatoblast morphometry were found to be useful for identification of this species. The reports of rare or overlooked faunal groups like Bryozoa indicates biodiversity and also make foundations for applied inquiries on known faunal resources.
