Abstract

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf) plants were inoculated with propiconezole sensitive and resistant isolates of Puccinia nakanishikii (Diet) by leaf priking method and total sugar, reducing sugar, starch, DNA, RNA, Polyphenols and total ash were estimated after 15 days of inoculation. The amount of total sugar, reducing sugar, starch, DNA, RNA were found to be decreased and the amount of Polyphenols and total ash were slightly increased when infected by both propiconezole sensitive as well as resistant isolates of Puccinia nakanishikii.
