Abstract

Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), adversely affects the yield of okra. The whitefly during nymphal and adult stages cause damage to healthy crop of Okra by sucking sap from leaf tissue and secretion of honey dew. During present study, the efficacy of new generation insecticides viz., Diafenthuron 50 WP@ 300gm a.i./ha, Broflanilide 20 SC @ 25 gm a.i./ha, Spinetorum 1.7 SC @ 46.8 gm a.i./ha, Flonicamid 50 WG @ 75 gm a.i./ha was undertaken. Maximum reduction in whitefly population was recorded due to the treatment with Broflanilide (1.43 whiteflies per leaf) followed by Diafenthuron (1.80 whiteflies per leaf), Spinetorum (2.05 whiteflies per leaf) and Flonicamid (2.19 whiteflies per leaf) as against those in untreated plants (7.64 whiteflies per leaf).
