Lakhimpur district of Assam has rich biodiversity. Due to its location in the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh, there is considerable floral diversity in the region. The people of this region depend on different plant species for food and medicines. This paper gives an account on the use of medicinal plants by Deori people of the Bihpuria Deori community in Lakhimpur district of Assam. The study is based entirely on primary data collected from selected deori villages. Different parts of these plants are used by the local inhabitants for the cure of some common ailments occurring in the areas.
