Present study explores bacterial isolates responsible for de-colorization of spent wash. Total eight de-colorizing bacterial isolates (S1 to S8) were obtained. Those were characterized their morphological, cultural and biochemical properties. Those were identified as S1: Sporosarcina spp, S2: Planococcus spp, S3: Stomatococcus spp, S4: Micrococcus spp, S5 : Planococcus spp, S6: Staphylococcus spp, S7: Bacillus spp and S8 : Sporosarcina spp. soil The isolate S5 showed highest de-colorization by clearing melanoidin pigment.
