Eunapius carteri (Bowerbank,1863) is the freshwater sponge, which was earlier reported from various localities in India as well as from West and Marathwada region of Maharashtra state. Present species of Eunapius carteri (Bowerbank, 1863) was newly reported from Saygata lake of Bramhapuri, Taluka, District Chandrapur from Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
