Phytochemical composition and impact of Trichosanthes tricuspidata against aedes aegypti mosquitoes
Abstract
The Aedesa egypti mosquito is a significant vector for diseases such as dengue and yellow fever. This study investigates the larvicidal effects of Trichosanthes tricuspidata extracts on Aedes aegypti. For this purpose, Methanol extracts from the plant were tested for their effectiveness in causing mortality in mosquito larvae. The results indicated that the extracts exhibited significant toxicity, with the highest mortality observed at the 25 ml dosage. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of bioactive compounds, suggesting its potential use as a natural insecticide.
