Abstract

Cayratia pedata is a member of family Vitaceae which has been classified as vulnerable in IUCN Red List of Threated species. During present investigation phytochemical analysis, cytotoxic potential and larvicidal activity of aerial parts of Cayratia pedata was evaluated. Phytochemical analysis of methanol, chloroform and petroleum ether extracts were undertaken. Its cytotoxic potential was evaluated and larvicidal activity was tested against Culex quinquefasciatus. The plant extract showed significant cytotoxic potential and moderate larvicidal activity.
