Abstract

Present study was undertaken to assess effect of Roundup on earthworm, Eudrilus eugeniae. The values for LC50 were determined over 7 and 14 day exposure periods. Earthworms were exposed to concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 1000 ppm in artificial soil. Roundup exhibited moderate toxicity, with LC50 values of 0.051 ppm after 7 days and 0.044 ppm after 14 days. Behavioural changes such as sluggish movement, excessive mucus secretion, and curling were observed.
