Sulphur Oxidising Bacteria from Rhizospheric Soil of Cajanus Cajan in Maharashtra Region

Abstract

Sulfur-solubilizing bacteria have emerged as valuable biofertilizers due to their ability to increase the availability of sulfur, a crucial nutrient for plant growth. These bacteria enhance plant development, nutrient absorption, and soil quality, thereby reducing reliance on synthetic fertilizers. Present investigation was undertaken to screen, characterize, and create a consortium of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria from rhizospheric soil, for plant growth promotion. The consortium of promising isolates was found to be useful for growth of Cajanus cajan and Glycine max, which can be used as a bio-fertilizer.
