Abstract

The genus Sesamum L., of the family Pedaliaceae, is an economically important taxon. Present study was undertaken to analyse bioactive compounds. from Sesamum laciniatum Klein ex Willd with the help of High Resolution- Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (HR-LCMS). Total 137 phyt-compounds were identified out of which 15 major providing were present in root, 17 in stem and 18 in leaves. These compounds were “major “on the basis of their retention time, mass, molecular formula and mass per charge ratio (m/z). The findings suggested that, Sesamum laciniatum Klein ex Willd is a source of important bioactive compounds, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory activity.
