Abstract

The relationship between type of the soil and zone of groundwater was studied. The main objective of present study was to find out the way in which soil characteristics (texture, structure, and composition) influence water infiltration, percolation, and retention, thereby affecting groundwater recharge. For this purpose the geographic information system (GIS) and along with remote sensing data were taken into consideration.
