Abstract

Zinc is an essential element for plant growth and development, as some of the enzymes involved in metabolic activities are activated by zinc. Zinc solubilizing microorganisms present in the soil have an ability to convert insoluble zinc into soluble form, which becomes available to the plants for their growth, development and differentiation. A review of the role of zinc in plants physiological activities has been given in present communication.
