Abstract

Alangium salviifolium (L.f.) Wangerin is a medicinal plant belonging to family Alangiaceae. As it’s seed germination is slow, present investigation was undertaken to study the influence of growth regulators on seed germination. For this purpose the seeds were soaked in the solutions of Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA), Indol-3-Butyric Acid (IBA), α - naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) and Gibberellic acid (GA) to evaluate their effect on germination. It was observed that Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) and Gibberellic acid (GA) had promising effect on seed germination.
