Abstract

During manufacturing of pesticides, medications, cosmetics, dyes, rubber, and adhesives extensive use of aniline and its derivatives is being made. These substances, when exposed to the environment undergo breakdown into their byproducts, which may be harmful to the living animals. Present investigation was undertaken to understand toxicity of aniline, wherein it was observed that.aniline reduced weight of the rats. It disrupted estrus cycle by causing a decline in LH, FSH and estrogen, with the increase in the quantity of atretic follicles in the ovaries.
