Abstract

Future demands for food in India will require improved crop production. Sustainable crop management practices will be required to follow specific cropping patterns. In this context, modern trends of farming will have more than one crop in a year, on the same land, leading to more land-intensive farming systems, as a result of which, the process of deforestation will increase. Furthermore the sequence and spatial arrangement of yearly crops on same land, defined as Cropping Pattern will have to be decided. In view of this, the present investigation was undertaken.
