Abstract

Qualitative phytochemical analysis of ethanol and acetone leaf extracts of Gliricidia sepium contained alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids, carbohydrates, proteins, steroids, tannins, glycosides, and terpenoids.,. GC-MS analysis resulted in the detection of 16 compounds in the ethanol extract and 29 compounds in the acetone extract. The three main constituents were 9-octadecanoic acid (31.18%), n-hexadecanoic acid (27.79%), and neophytadiene (14.03%) in ethanol, while butyl 9,12,15-octadecatrienoate (15.77%), 4-aminobenzo-1,2,3-triazine (14.29%), n-hexadecanoic acid (12.24%), and methyl 3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)propionate (11.28%) in acetone extract.
