Occurrence of Pediastrum Meyen in Mor Dam of Jalgaon District (Maharashtra)

Present investigation deals with taxonomic study of 09 taxa of genus Pediastrum from Mor Dam, District Jalgaon, Maharashtra. The samples were collected from two sites of Mor dam situated near village Hingona. Three species and 06 varieties of Pediastrum were recorded namely Pseudopediastrum integrum, P. simplex, P. simplex var. duodenarium, P. simplex var. echinulatum, P. sturmii var. echinulatum, P. tetras, P. tetras var. apiculatum, P. tetras var. excisum and P. tetras var. tetraodon. All these taxa have been reported for the first time from the study area.
